2 Coroners Amendment (No. 1) No. 439, 1993 ˙ Short title 1. These rules may be cited as the Coroners Amendment Rules (No. 1) 1993 . ˙ Commencement 2. These rules commence on 6 December 1993. ˙ Amended rules 3. The Coroners Rules 1959 are amended as set out in these rules. ˙ Replacement of rules 17 and 18 4. Rules 17 and 18— omit, insert— ˙ ‘Allowances payable to a medical practitioner for making a post-mortem or other examination ‘17.(1) The allowances payable to a medical practitioner (other than a salaried government medical officer) for a post-mortem or other examination are the allowances set out in Schedule 3. ‘(2) An additional amount equal to 25% of an allowance mentioned in item 1, 2 or 3 in Schedule 3 is payable on a proportionate basis for the part of an examination that is made after hours. ‘(3) In subrule (2)— “after hours” means the hours after 6.00 pm on a day but before 8.30 am on the next day. Examples under subrule (2)— Example 1— A prolonged consultation (visit) is made between 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm. The allowance payable is— (a) under item 1( d)
