CORONERS ACT 1980—REGULATION

(Relating to a medical practitioner’s fees)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council. and in pursuance of the Coroners Act 1980, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 January 1991.

Amendment

2. The Coroners Regulation 1980 is amended by omitting clause 4 and

by inserting instead the following clause:

Fees

4. The following are the fees payable under section 52 of the Act to a medical practitioner who performs a service in accordance with an order or request of a coroner:

Service performed Fee

(a) carrying out an external $50 if the examination is
examination of a dead carried out during normal
person’s body and providing hours and $65 if carried out
on the prescribed form a outside normal hours
report of the examination to

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Coroners Regulation 1980 so as to increase the fees payable to a medical practitioner who examines the body of a person who has died and attends an inquest into the person’s death. The fees were last increased as from 4 March 1985.
