Copyright Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Copyright Act 1968.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on 1 July 1995.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Copyright Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 21 (Restriction of importation into Australia of copyright material)

3.1   Subregulations 21 (1), (2), (4), (5) and (6):

Omit the subregulations.

4.   New regulations 22 and 22A

4.1   After regulation 21, insert:

Notice of seizure—prescribed period for instituting action for infringement of copyright

“22.

For the purposes of paragraph 135AC (2) (a) of the Act, the prescribed period is 10 working days.

Notice of seizure—prescribed period for extension of retention period

“22A.

For the purposes of subsection 135AC (6) of the Act, the prescribed period is 10 working days after the end of the retention period mentioned in the subsection.”.

5. Schedule 9 (Notice for purposes of section 135 of the Copyright Act 1968)

5.1   Omit the schedule.
