Australia: And whereas it is expedient to provide for the honorable retirement from the Chief Justiceship of the said Comt of the said Sir Charles Cooper, by colifwring upon hixn an annuily for the term of his natural life-Be it tl-noreibre Enacted, by the Governor-in- Chief of t l ~ c Province of Soutll Australia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of the said Pro- vince, in this present Pwliannent assembled, as follows :- |

An annual payment or annuity of One Thousancl PoundsAnannuityof $1,006
shall be paid to Sir Charles Cooper, Knight, the pcsent Chief | |
Justice of the said Province, for the term of his natural life; and the said annual payment or annuity shall be deemcd and considered to commence and take effect from the tinlc at which the said Sir Charles Cooper shall retire fxmm the Chief Justiceship of the said Court with the conscnt of the Govcri~o~ and Executive Council, and | |
shall be paid thereattcr by equal monthly payments; and the said | |
annual pa~ment or annuity shall and may be issuing and payable |
appointed |
appointed by him to receive such annual payment or annuity, or any part thereof, shall be a good and sufficient discharge for the payment thereof; and the said annual payment or annuity shall be fleeand clear from all taxes, rates, and assessments, and a13 other charges
whatsoever.
