(Exemption) Regulation 2000

Conveyancers Licensing Act 1995

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Conveyancers Licensing Act 1995.

Explanatory note

Currently, the Conveyancers Licensing Regulation 1993 includes an exemption from the requirement for a licensed conveyancer to hold approved professional indemnity insurance under the Conveyancers Licensing Act 1995 if the conveyancer holds one of certain specified policies. The object of this Regulation is to remove that exemption. Equivalent policies will be declared by order under that Act to be approved policies.

This Regulation is made under the Conveyancers Licensing Act 1995, including sections 12 (3) and 91 (the general regulation-making power).

1     Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Conveyancers Licensing Amendment

(Exemption) Regulation 2000.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2000.

3 Amendment of Conveyancers Licensing Regulation 1993

The Conveyancers Licensing Regulation 1993 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Omit “or” from clause 4 (a) (ii).
