Conveyancers Licensing Amendment

(Administration) Regulation 1997

Conveyancers Licensing Act 1995

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Conveyancers Licensing Act 1995.

Explanatory note

The Fair Trading Legislation Amendment Act 1997 abolished the Property Services Council and provided for the Director-General of the Department of Fair Trading to exercise the functions under the Conveyancers Licensing Act 1995 formerly exercised by the Council.

The object of this Regulation is to update references to the Council in the

Conveyancers Licensing Regulation 1993.

This Regulation is made under the Conveyancers Licensing Act 1995, including section 91 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Conveyancers Licensing Amendment

(Administration) Regulation 1997.

2 Amendment of Conveyancers Licensing Regulation 1993

The Conveyancers Licensing Regulation 1993 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

3 Notes

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Schedule 1 Amendments

(Clause 2)

  1. The whole regulation (except Schedule 1)

Omit “Council” wherever occurring.
Insert instead “Director-General”.
  1. Schedule 1

    Omit “Property Services Council” wherever occurring in Form 1. Insert instead “Director-General of the Department of Fair Trading”.
