An Act to remove doubts which have arisen respecting the validity of the conversion of Conditional Purchases applied for under

the " Crown Lands Alienation Act of 1861"

into Mining Conditional Purchases under the 19th section of that Act. [1st March,

1888.]

WH E R E A S doubts have arisen as to the validity of the conversion of conditional purchases applied for under the " Crown Lands Alienation Act of 1 8 6 1 " into mining conditional purchases under the
nineteenth section of that A c t : B e it therefore enacted by the Queen's

Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
1. Notwithstanding any omission in the " Crown Lands Act of
1884," or the Acts repealed thereby, to provide for the conversion of con­
ditional purchases applied for under the "Crown Lands Alienation Act

of 1861 , " into mining conditional purchases under the nineteenth section of that Act, all regulations made prior to the commencement of this Act, purporting to authorize such conversion, shall be deemed to have

had the force of law, and any conversion effected or sanctioned in pursuance, or purporting to be in pursuance thereof, or any conversion approved or permitted by any Secretary for Lands or other person on his behalf, shall be deemed to have been and to be valid. Provided that nothing herein contained shall affect any action or suit which may have been commenced prior to the passing of this Act.

2. This Act may be cited as the " Conversion into Mining Conditional Purchases Validation Act of 1888 ."
