Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Consumer Transactions (No. 2) Variation Regulations 2006.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation four months after the day on which they are made (see Subordinate Legislation Act 1978 section 10AA).

3—Variation provisions

In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.

Part 2—Variation of Consumer Transactions Regulations (No. 2) 1996

4—Variation of regulation 7—Exemptions

  1. Regulation 7(2)—delete "section 48" and substitute:

    section 17

  2. Regulation 7(3)—delete "section 48(1)(b)" and substitute:

    section 17(1)(b)

5—Substitution of regulation 8

Regulation 8—delete the regulation and substitute:

8—Print type

For the purposes of section 17(1)(b) of the Act, a provision of a written consumer contract must be printed in type that is not less than 10 point.

6—Variation of Schedule 1—Extended definition of services

Schedule 1—after paragraph (z) insert:

(za)monitoring a security alarm or surveillance system for a dwellinghouse.

7—Revocation of Schedule 2—Print type

Schedule 2—delete the Schedule
