Consumer Credit (Western Australia) Act 1996

These regulations come into operation on the day on which the
Consumer Credit (Western Australia) Amendment Act 2001
comes into operation.

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.            Citation

These regulations may be cited as the Consumer Credit
(Western Australia) Amendment Regulations 2002.

2.            Commencement

3.            The regulation amended

The amendments in these regulations are to the Consumer
Credit (Western Australia) Regulations 1996*.

4.            Section 6 amended

Section 6(a) is amended by deleting "$200" and inserting
instead —
"$50".

5.            Section 6E inserted

After section 6D the following section is inserted

6E. Authorised deposit-taking institutions – exemption
from Code

(1)

The Code does not apply to the provision of credit by an authorised deposit-taking institution limited by the contract to a total period not exceeding 62 days.

(2) In this section
"authorised deposit-taking institution" has the

meaning given under the Banking Act 1959

(Cwlth), section 5(1).
