AN ACT to amend the Consumer Affairs Act

1971-1983.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Consumer V;Vitzeon

Affairs Amendment Act 1983.

In this Act the Consumer Affairs Act 1971- Reprinted as

Section 4

amended.

2. Section 4 of the principal Act is amended

(a)

in subsection (2) by inserting before ", a person who carries on a trade or business" the following-

" , but subject to subsection (2a) of this

section "; and

(b)

by inserting, after subsection (2), the following subsection

(2a) A person who carries on an agricultural, apicultural, pastoral, horticultural, orcharding, viticultural or other farming undertaking does not carry on a trade or business for the purposes of subsection (2) of this section. ".
