AN ACT to amend the Consumer Affairs Act

1971-1978.

[Assented to 26 November 1980.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Consumer

and

Affairs Amendment Act 1980.

(2) In this Act the Consumer Affairs Act 1971-

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may

be cited as the Consumer Affairs Act 1971-1980.

Section 4

amended.

2. Section 4 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (1), in the definition of "services", by deleting "includes the provision for reward of lodging or accommodation" and substituting the following-

" includes

(a)

the provision for reward of lodging or accommodation; and

(b)

the entering into by an insurer of, and the provision of rights and benefits under, any contract of insurance, other than a contract of insurance-

(i)

required by the Workers' Compen-

sation Act 1912; or

(ii) within the meaning of the Motor Vehicle (Third Party Insurance) Act 1943 " .

Section 26

amended.

3. Section 26 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (1) by deleting "September" and sub- stituting the following-

" October "
