Constitution (Referendum) Act 1989, No. 68 871 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title . This Act may be cited as the Constitution (Referendum) Act 1989. 2. Referendum on bill . In accordance with section 4 of the Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1934, the bill entitled "A Bill to extend the term of the present Parliament of Queensland to allow the Electoral and Administrative Review Commission to review the electoral system and carry out Redistribution of Electoral Boundaries as determined by the Commission for an election no later than July 7, 1990" is to be submitted for the approval of the electors qualified to vote for the election of members of the Legislative Assembly. 3. Manner of conducting referendum . The taking of votes of the electors for the purpose of section 2 is to be in accordance with the Referendums Act 1989
