The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Act is to increase the amount of annual salary payable to future Governors as a consequence of their salary being subject to income tax.

2. Commencement

This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3. Amendment of section 7

See:

(1) In section 7(1) of the Constitution Act 1975, the	Act No.
expression commencing "less" and ending at the	8750. Reprint No. 14
end of the sub-section is repealed.	as at 1 July 2000
(2) At the end of section 7 of the Constitution Act	and
1975 insert—	amending Act Nos
"(3) Despite the commencement of the	6/2001, 12/2001,

amendment of sub-section (1) made by	19/2001 and
section 3(1) of the Constitution	40/2001. LawToday:
(Governor's Salary) Act 2002,
sub-section (1) (as in force immediately	dpc.vic.
gov.au
before the commencement of that Act) continues to apply during the continuance in office after that commencement of the person who held office as Governor on 28 June 2001.".
