MINISTERS).

No. 4 of 1947.

AN ACT to make provision for restricting the neces- sity of the re-election of members of Parliament on acceptance of office.

[Assented to 2nd October, 1947.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1. This Act may be cited as the Constitution Acts Short title.

Notwithstanding anything in any Act, a Member ef

of the Legislative Council or the Legislative Assembly Oh. 2.

shall not vacate his seat by reason only of his acceptance of an office of profit from or under the Crown if that office be one which the holder is liable to vacate on poli- tical grounds and which is referred to in the Constitu- tion Act, 1889 (52 Vict., No. 23), sections six and seventy- 52 mt.,
