AN ACT to amend the Constitution Acts

Amendment Act, 1899.

[Assented to 18th November, 1954.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

and citation	1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Constitution Acts Amendment Act (No. 2), 1954.

In this Act the Constitution Acts Amendment Act, 1899, 63 Victories No. 19 as amended from time to time is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Constitution Acts Amendment Act, 1899-1954.

2. Section eleven of the principal Act is amended amended.

by adding the following proviso

Provided that pending such first meeting the Chairman of Committees shall fill the office and perform the duties of the President, subject, however, to section thirteen hereof.

S. 12

Section twelve of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words, "Council shall thereupon elect some other member to" in lines four and five and substituting the words, "Chairman of Com- mittees shall". amended.
