AN ACT to amend section fifteen of the Constitution
Acts Amendment Act, 1899-1954.
[Assented to 28th November, 1955.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Constitution =at.
Acts Amendment Act, 1955.
(2) In this Act the Constitution Acts Amendment
Act, 1899-1954,
Act 63 Victories No. 19 as amended by Acts Nos. 2 of 1900, 31 of 1911, 48 of 1919, 7 of 1920, 34 of 1921, 25 of 1927, 11 of 1931, 29 of 1932, 25 of

1933, 46 of 1933, 21 of 1934, 40 of 1934, 29 of 1942, 52 of 1945, 2 of 1947, 4 of 1947, 52 of 1947, 12 of 1948, 17 of 1949, 2 of 1950, 35 of 1950, 45 of 1950, 63 of 1950 and 32 of 1954,
is referred to as the principal Act.
(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Constitution Acts Amendment Act, 1899-1955.

| amended. | 2. Section fifteen of the principal Act is amended |
by
| (a) | deleting the word "Australia" in line one of paragraph (i) of the second proviso; |
| (b) | inserting after paragraph (i) of the second proviso a paragraph as follows |
(ii) no person who is a native according to the interpretation of that expres- sion in section two of the Native Welfare Act, 1905-1954, and is not the holder of a certificate of citizenship pursuant to the provisions of the Natives (Citizenship Rights) Act, 1944-1951, shall be entitled to be registered as an elector;
| (c) | deleting the paragraph designation "(ii)" |
where it appears immediately after para-
graph (i) of the second proviso and substi-
tuting therefor the paragraph designation

"(iii)";
| (d) | deleting all the words after the word "Com- monwealth" in line five of the last para- graph of the section down to the end of such paragraph. |
