[ASSENTED TO 4TH OCTOBER, 1929.] B E it enacted by the King's :Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative AssemblY of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title 1. This Act may be cited as "The ConstitutionAct and t t' Amendment Act of 1929," and shall be read as one with ~ ~~ c~ c 10D *" The Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1896" as amended by t" The Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1909," t" The Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1919 (No. 2)," §" The Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1922," and il" The Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1926," and with ~ " The Officials in ParliamentAct of 1896" as amended by **" The Officials in ParliamentAct Amend- ment Act of 1920," tt" The Officials in ParliamentAct Amendment Act of 1922," and it" The Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1926." Amendment 2. The following amendments are made in *" The N of o 6 . 0 5. Vie. ConstitutionAct Amendment Act of 1896" as amended by the Acts aforesaid amending the same :- Section 4 ( 1.). (i.) In subsection one of section four, the words "seven hundred and fifty," where they twice occur, are repealed and the words" five hundred" are inserted in lieu thereof; also, the words "nine hundred and fifty" are repealed and the words "seven hundred" are inserted in lieu thereof. Schedule I. (ii.) In Schedule L, the figures" 1,250" are repealed and the figures " 1~ 000" are inserted in lieu thereof; and the figures" 950" are repealed and the figures "700" are inserted in lieu thereof. * 60 Vie. [ASSENTED TO 17TH DECEMBER, 1929.] " l~THEREAS by virtue of an Act intituled t" The Preamble. \' l Oonstitution Act Amendment Act of 1922" (the Bill concerning which was reserved for the signification of His Majesty's pleasure, and in connection with which Bill His Majesty's Assent was proclaimed on the twenty-' third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, and was duly published in the Ga7.-ette of the twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two) the Legislative Council was abolished: And whereas it was provided by section three of such Act that the Governor in Council may, by notification published in the Gazette, declare that the existing members of the Legislative Council shall during life, or for such period of time as is fixed in such notification, retain and continue to be entitled to exercise the privilege of a free pass upon the Railways of the State and the use of the parliamentary library, and such other existing privileges of ~ uch members as may be * 00 Vic.
