[ASSENTED TO 6TH SEPTEMBER, 1926.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. This Act may be cited as "The COr/,stitl1,tion Act Short title Amendment Act of 1926," and shall be read as one with :~~ ~truction "The Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1896"* as of Act. amended by "The Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1909,"t ,'rPhe Constitution Act Amendment Act 01 1919 (No. 2),"t and" The Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1922"§ and with. "The Officials in Parliament Act 01 1896 "\I as amended by "The OfficialsinParliamentAct Amendment :Act 01 1920" ~ and" The Officials in ParliamentAct Amendment Act of 1922."** 2 The following amendments are made in "The Amendment Constitl1tion Act Amendment Act of 1896"* asa:rnended of so Vie. by the Acts aforesaid amending the same :--,-- No. 5. (i.) In subsection one of section four, the words Section 4 "five hundred," where they twice occur, are repealed (1.). and the words" seven hundred and fifty" are inserted in lieu t.hereof; also, the words "seven hundred" are repealed and the words" nine hundred and fifty" are inserted in lieu thereof. * 60 Vie. In subsection four of section six, the words "sixteenth day of March" are repealed and the words "first day of July" are inserted in lieu thereof. The amendment hereby made in the said section six shall come into operation on the date of the passing of this Act. Schedule 1. (iii.) In Schedule I., the figures" 1,000" are repealed and the figures "1,250" are inserted in lieu thereof; and the figures "700" are repealed and the figures "950" are inserted in lieu thereof. Amendment 3. The following amendments are made in " The * o N f o6. 03.Vie. Offi.eials in Parliament A et of 1896" as amend,;d by the Acts aforesaid amending the same:- Section 3. (i.) In section three, the word " nine" is repealed and the word "ten" is inserted in lieu thereof. Section 6. (ii.) In section six, the words "one thousand" are repealed and the words "one thousand two hundred and fifty" are inserted in lieu thereof; also, the ·words "nine thousand three hundred" are repealed and the words" twelve thousand eight hundred" are inserted in lieu thereof. o A f pAplcitc.ation prese 4 n . t LTehgisisAlactitvaepAplsiseesmabslywaeslltotothtehemmelelJmbberesrsofofevtehriys Legislative Assembly hereafter to be symmoned and chosen; save as is provided in paragraph (ii.· of section two of this Act, the amendments of the aforesaid Acts hereby made shall be deemed to have been made therein respectively on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six; for the purposes of this provision, the ten persons who were on that date and are at the date of the passing of this Act members of the Executive Council shall be deemed to have been duly appointed to be officers of the Crown liable to retire from office on political grounds on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six. * 60 Vic.
