[ASSENTED TO 27TH OCTOBER, 1919.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,. by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament as~ embled, and by the authority of the same,. as follows :- Short title 1. This Act, may be cited as "The Oonstitution Act and . Amendment Act of 1919, No. 2," and shall be read as one ~ ~ n. :. ~ ~etlOn with *" The Oonstitution Act Amendment Act of 1896," herein referred to as the Principal Act. ' Amendment 2. (1.) In the first paragraph of subsection one of ofs. 4 (1.), section four of the Principal Act the words "three hundred pounds" are repealed, and the words "five hundred pounds" are inserted in lieu thereof. * 60 Vie. In the proviso to the said subsection as enacted by section two of *"The Oon8titutionActAmendment Acto! 1909" the words" three hundred pounds" are repealed, and the words" five hundred pounds" are inserted in lieu thereof; also, the words "five hundred pounds" are repealed, and the words "seven hundred pounds" are inserted in lieu thereof. (3.) In the First Schedule of the Principal Act the Amendment provisions- of Sch. I. " Chairman of Committees of the LegisJativeCouncil " Chairman of Committees of the Legislative Ass~ mbly £500 " £500 72 are repealed and the provisions- "Chairman of Committees of the Legislative Council " Chairman of Committees of the Legislative Assembly £700" , £700 " are inserted in lieu thereof. 3. The following subsection is added to section six Amendment of the Principal Act :_ of s. 6. (4.) Provided further that any moneys payable to any member under any provision of this Act which have not been drawn by him before the expiration of seven days after the sixteenth day of March in each year shall revert to the Treasury and become part of the Consoli- dated Revenue, and such member shall no longer be entitled to payment thereof. 4. This Act applies as well to the members of this Application present Legislative Assembly as to the members of everyOf Act. , Legislative Assembly hereafter to be summoned and chosen; the amendments qf the Principal Act hereby made shall be deemed to have been made therein on the sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and the Principal Act as so amended shall be construed accordingly; and to this extent this Act shall have retrospective operation. * 9 Edw.
