a Quorum. [10th July, 1S90.J

BE it enacted by the Queen 's Mos t Exce l l en t Majesty , by and wi th
t h e advice and consent of t he Legislat ive Council and Legis­ by the a u t h o r i t y of t h e same, as follows :—

la t ive Assembly of N e w South Wales in P a r l i a m e n t assembled, and
1. Af ter the pass ing of th is A c t wherever in the e igh th section

of t h e A c t of t h e I m p e r i a l Legis la ture , e igh teen th and n ine teen th
Victoria chap te r fifty-four (commonly k n o w n as t h e " Const i tut ion
A c t " ) , t h e expression " o n e - t h i r d " occurs t he expression " o n e - f o u r t h "
shall be subs t i tu ted and read ; and where in t he said section t h e word
" t h r e e " occurs t h e word " four" shall i n l ike m a n n e r be subs t i tu ted

and read, to t h e i n t en t t h a t t he q u o r u m of t h e Legis la t ive Council n o w prescribed b y law should be one-fourth instead of one-third of

t h e Member s of t he said Counci l , exclus ive of the Pres ident .
