CONSTITUTION ACT 1902—REGULATION

(Relating to the Governor’s salary)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 9I of the Constitution Act 1902, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 8 August 1993.

Amendment

2. The Governor’s Salary Regulation 1990 is amended by omitting

clause 2 and by inserting instead the following clause:

Governor’s salary

2. The annual amount payable for the salary of a Governor is

$90,000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Section 9I of the Constitution Act 1902 provides that the annual amount payable for the salary of the Governor is $80,000 or such greater amount as is determined from time to time by regulation. The Governor’s Salary Regulation 1990 sets the current annual amount of the salary at $83,000. The object of this Regulation is to increase that annual amount (which has not been increased since 1 March 1990) to $90,000 with effect from 8 August 1993.
