CONSTITUTION ACT 1902—PROCLAMATION

NEW SOUTH WALES

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 49 of the Constitution Act 1902, do, by this my Proclamation, with effect on and from 1 July 1993:

(a)	establish the Department of Business and Regional Development as a Department responsible to the Minister for Regional Development;
(b)	establish the Office of Economic Development as a branch of the Premier’s Department;
(c)	remove all branches from and abolish the Department of State Development and:

(i)  add the following branches to the Department of Business and Regional Development:

• Executive Support Unit

• Business Services and Regional Development Group

• Corporate Services Group

• Business and Regional Analysis and Policy Development Unit

• Business and Regional Development Client

Communications Unit

(ii)  add the following branches to the Office of Economic Development in the Premier’s Department:

• Chief Executive’s Support Unit

• Major Projects Coordination Unit

• Investment Group

• Industry Development Group

• Industry Analysis and Policy Development Unit

(d)	remove the Office of Aboriginal Affairs from the Premier’s Department and establish it as an Administrative Office (with the name “Office of Aboriginal Affairs”) responsible to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs;
(e)	remove the Women’s Co-ordination Unit from the Chief Secretary’s Department and establish it as an Administrative Office (with the name “Ministry for the Status and Advancement of Women”) responsible to the Minister for the Status of Women;
(f)	change the name of the Ministry for Police to the “Ministry for Police and Emergency Services”;
(g)	remove the State Rescue and Emergency Management Secretariat from the Department of Bush Fire Services and add it to the Ministry for Police and Emergency Services;
(h)	remove the Port and Marine Policy Unit from the Department of Transport and add i t to the Public Works Department;

(i)  change the name of the Community Corrections Service in the Department of Courts Administration to the New South Wales Probation Service in the Department of Courts Administration.
