An Act to amend a The Constitution Act."

HEREAS, by

The Constitution Act," No. 2 of 1855.6, it is, PteambIa*

W amongst other things, provided and enacted that the Farlia-

ment constituted by the said Act should have full power and

authority from time to time, by any Act, to repeal, alter, or vary all or any of the provisions of the now reciting Act, and to substitute others in lieu thereof: And whereas it is expedient to amend the said recited Act by providing that it shall not be necessary that the Attorney-General should be a Member of either House of Parliament, and by providing for the appointment of another Minister and Member

of the Honorable Executive Council, and for the equalization of

Ministers' salaries-Be it therefore Enacted by the Governor of the Province of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of the said Province, in

this present Parliament assembled, as follows:

as provides that no person shall hold the office of Attorney-General for

So much of the thirty-eighth clause of "The Constitution Act" as provides for the payment out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Province of South Australia of the sums made payable under Schedule A annexed to the said Act to the Chief Secretary, the Attorney-General, the Treasurer, the Commissioner of Crown Lands and Immigration, and the Commissioner of Public Works, shall be

and the same is hereby repealed, and in lieu of the several sums so made payable as aforesaid, the several sums mentioned in the

Schedule to this Act annexed shall be payable out of the said fund to the several officers in such Schedule named, and the said several sums shall be issued by the Treasurer of the said Province in d b charge of such warrants'as shall from time to time be directed to him under the hand of the Governor.

4. Thk Act shall be incorporated and read together with "The

Constitution Act " as one Act.

6. This Act may be cited for all purposes as a The Constitution Amendment Act, 1873,"
