An Act to apply certain Sums out of the Con­ solidated Revenue Fund of N e w South Wales towards the Services of the Year 1871 and of the previous Year. [31st March, 1871.]

W H E R E A S we Y o u r Majesty 's most dutiful and loyal subjects

t he Members of t he Legislat ive Assembly of N e w South Wales in Pa r l i amen t assembled have resolved to g ran t to Y o u r Majesty the s u m of One h u n d r e d and thirty-five thousand th ree hundred pounds t h a t is to say—

The sum of One hundred and twenty-five thousand three hundred pounds be ing the s u m required to defray t h e expenses of t he various Depa r tmen t s and Services of t he Colony from t h e first to t he thirty-first of March one thousand e ight hundred and seventy-one.

The s u m of Seven thousand five hundred pounds to defray t he

expense of S team Pos ta l Communica t ion wi th Great Br i ta in

via San Francisco for t he n ine mon ths ended the th i r ty - first December one thousand eight hundred and seventy and

The sum of Two thousand five hundred pounds to defray the l ike expense for t he th ree mon ths ending thirty-first M a r c h one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

A n d whereas we desire to m a k e good out of the Consolidated Revenue

Fund of N e w South W a l e s t h e sums so gran ted to H e r Majesty B e i t therefore enacted by the Queen 's Mos t Exce l len t Majesty by and wi th t h e advice and consent of t he Legislat ive Council and Legislat ive Assembly of N e w South W a l e s in Pa r l i amen t assembled and by the au thor i ty of t he same as follows :—

1. Ou t of t h e Consolidated Revenue Fund of N e w South W a l e s the re shall and m a y be issued and applied for or towards m a k i n g good the supplies so resolved to be granted to H e r Majesty for t he said several services t he s u m of One hundred and thirty-five thousand th ree h u n d r e d pounds to be; expended a t t he rates which have been sanc­ t ioned for t he year one thousand eight hundred and seventy subject to t he r a t e of any reduc t ion t h a t m a y hereafter be made in t he expen­ di ture of t he year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

2. The Treasurer shall issue and pay the said sum for t h e services aforesaid in such m a n n e r and in such proport ions as t h e Governor by W a r r a n t s or Orders in wr i t ing unde r his h a n d and directed to t h e said Treasurer shall from t ime to t ime order and direct A n d the p a y m e n t s so to be made shall bo charged upon and payable ou t of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Colony.

3 . The Treasurer shall in his accounts from t ime to t ime be al lowed credit for all sums of money paid by h im in pursuance of such W a r r a n t s or Orders A n d the receipts of t h e respective persons to w h o m t h e same shall be so paid shall be full and valid discharges to t he said Treasurer in passing his said accounts for such sums as shall be the re in ment ioned and he shall receive credit for t he same accordingly.
