An Act to apply certain Sums out of the Con­ solidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales towards the Services of the Year

1871 and previous Years. [24th February,

1871.]

WHEREAS we Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects

the Members of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled have resolved to grant to Your Majesty the sum of One hundred and fifty-six thousand four hundred and thirty-

five pounds and seven pence that is to say—

The sum of One hundred and twenty-five thousand three hundred pounds being the sum required to defray the expenses of the various Departments and Services of the Colony from first to twenty-eighth February one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one

The sum of Sixteen thousand two hundred and thirty-five pounds and seven pence for supplementary services of the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy and previous years and
The sum of Fourteen thousand nine hundred pounds for services of the year one thousand eight hundred and

seventy-one

which two last-specified sums are set forth in the Schedule hereto annexed and in respect of the services of the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one the last-specified sum namely Fourteen thousand nine hundred pounds is in excess of the monthly-proportionate amount required as hereinbefore set forth for the services of the said month of February And whereas we desire to make good out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales the sums so granted to Her Majesty Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent

out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Colony.

Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council
and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled
and by the authority of the same as follows :—

1. Out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales there shall and may be issued and applied for or towards making good the supplies so resolved to be granted to Her Majesty for the said several services the sum of One hundred and fifty-six thousand four hundred and thirty-five pounds and seven pence to be expended at the rates which have been sanctioned for the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy subject to the rate of any reduction that may hereafter be made in the expenditure of the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

2. The Treasurer shall issue and pay the said sum for the
services aforesaid in such manner and in such proportions as the

Governor by Warrants or Orders in writing under his hand and directed to the said Treasurer shall from time to time order and direct And the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and payable

3. The Treasurer shall in his accounts from t ime to t ime be

allowed credit for all sums of money paid by h i m in pursuance of such W a r r a n t s or Orders A n d the receipts of the respective persons to w h o m the same shall he so paid shall he full and valid discharges to t he said Treasurer in passing his said accounts for such sums as shall be there in ment ioned and he shall receive credit for t he same accordingly.
