No. XXI.

An Act to apply certain Sums ont of the Con­
solidated Revenue Fund of New South

Wales towards the Services of the Year

1876.        [28th January, 1876.]

in Parliament assembled have resolved to grant to Your Majesty the WHEREAS we Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects the Members of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales
sum of Five hundred and thirty-five thousand five hundred and fifty
pounds that is to say—

The sum of One hundred and eighty-six thousand eight hundred and sixty-five pounds being the sum required to defray the expenses of the various Departments and Services of the Colony from first to thirty-first January one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six

The sum of Sixty thousand pounds to enable the Treasurer to make Advances to Public Officers and on account of other Governments and to pay expenses of an unforseen nature which will afterwards be submitted for Parliamentary appro­ priation—the whole amount to be adjusted not later than thirty-first December one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven And

The sura of Two hundred and eighty-eight thousand six hundred and eighty-five pounds for services of the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six as set forth in the schedule hereto annexed

And whereas we desire to make good out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales the sum so granted to Her Majesty Be it therefore enacted hy the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty hy and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled and hy the authority of the same as follows :—

1 . Out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales

there shall and may be issued and applied for or towards making good the supply so resolved to be granted to Her Majesty for the said several services the sum of Five hundred and thirty-five thousand five hundred and fifty pounds of which the sum of Four hundred and seventy-five thousand five hundred and fifty pounds is to be expended at the rates which have been sanctioned for the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five subject to the rate of any reduction that may here­ after be made in the expenditure of the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six and Sixty thousand pounds to be advanced to the Treasurer to enable him to make Advances to Public Officers and on account of other Governments and to pay expenses of an unforseen nature to be afterwards submitted for Parliamentary appropriation the

Avhole amount to be adjusted not later than the thirty-first day of

December one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven.

2. The Treasurer shall issue and pay the said sum for the services aforesaid in such manner and in such proportions as the Governor by Warrants or Orders in writing under his hand and directed to the said Treasurer shall from time to time order and direct And the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and payable out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Colony.

3. The Treasurer shall in his accounts from time to time be allowed credit for all sums of money paid by him in pursuance of such Warrants or Orders And the receipts of the respective persons to whom the same shall be so paid shall be full and valid discharges to the said Treasurer in passing his said accounts for such sums as shall be therein mentioned and he shall receive credit for the same accordingly.
