Consolidated Fund Appropriation Act 1998
An Act for the appropriation of money out of the Consolidated Fund for the service of the financial year ending on 30 June 1999, to authorise the Treasurer to borrow money on behalf of the State and to approve the issue and application of money out of the Consolidated Fund for the financial year ended on 30 June 1998

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Consolidated Fund Appropriation Act 1998 . 2CommencementThis Act is taken to have commenced on 1 July 1998. 3Issue, application and appropriation of $789 245 000 (1) In respect of the financial year ending on 30 June 1999, the Treasurer may – (a) issue the sum of $789 245 000 out of the Consolidated Fund; and (b) apply that sum for the services of the Government. (2) The sum specified in subsection (1) is appropriated. 4Purposes of appropriations (1) As shown by Schedule 1 , the total of the sum appropriated by section 3 of the Consolidated Fund Supply Act (No. 2) 1998 and the sum appropriated by section 3 of this Act is $1 911 337 000. (2) The sum of $1 911 337 000 is to be applied for the purposes of Schedule 2 . 5Approval of excess expenditure for last financial year (1) The expenditure in respect of the financial year ended on 30 June 1998 of $14 158 000 out of the Consolidated Fund under sections 11(2) and (3) and 12(1) and (2) of the Public Account Act 1986 is approved. (2) Schedule 3 specifies the purposes for the expenditure referred to in subsection (1) . 6Power to borrow moneyThe Treasurer may borrow such money as may be required for the purposes of the State.
