Conservation, Forests and Lands

(Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 1998†

[Assented to 10 November 1998]

The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:

PART 1—PRELIMINARY

1. Purpose

The main purposes of this Act are—

(a)

to amend the Conservation, Forests and Lands Act 1987 and various other Acts to amend references to the Secretary to the

Department of Natural Resources and
Environment;

(b)

to amend the Coastal Management Act 1995 to improve the operation of that Act; and

(c)

to make a consequential amendment to the Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978; and

(d)

to amend the Parks Victoria Act 1998 to improve the operation of that Act.

2. Commencement

(1) Parts 1 and 5 come into operation on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

(2) Sections 19 and 26(2) are deemed to have come into operation on 1 July 1998.

(3) Subject to sub-section (4), the provisions of Parts

3 and 4 come into operation on a day or days to be
proclaimed.

(4) If a provision referred to in sub-section (3) does

not come into operation before 1 July 1999, it
comes into operation on that day.

(5) The remaining provisions of this Act come into

operation on 15 December 1998.

Saving of Council be the same body as the Victorian Coastal and Bay Management Council despite the change in its name and any change in its membership resulting from the amendment of this Act by the Conservation, Forests and Lands (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 1998.

41. Amendment of Schedule

(1) In clause 1 of the Schedule to the Coastal

(2) In clause 2 of the Schedule to the Coastal
