EXTENSION OF THE BAN PERIOD FOR THE INTERIM BAN ON HOVERBOARDS THAT DO NOT MEET SPECIFIC SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

I, KELLY O’DWYER, Minister for Small Business and Assistant Treasurer, pursuant to section 111(2) of the Australian Consumer Law, which is Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, extend the interim ban titled ‘Imposition of interim ban on hoverboards that do not meet specific safety requirements’ imposed via Consumer Protection Notice No. 3 of 2016 and in force from 19 March 2016, by a period of 30 days.

The interim ban commenced on 19 March 2016 and is in force for 60 days, until 17 May 2016. The effect of this Notice is to extend the interim ban by 30 days from 18 May 2016.

This Notice commences on 18 May 2016.
