COMPENSATION TO RELATIVES (AMEND-
MENT ACT.
An Act to make further provision as to pensions not to be taken into account in assessing damages in actions under the Compen- sation to Relatives Act of 1897; for this purpose to amend the Compensation to Relatives Act of 1897, as amended by subsequent Acts ; and for purposes connected therewith. Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Compensation
to Relatives (Amendment) Act, 1946."
(2) The Compensation to Relatives Act of 1897, as amended by subsequent Acts and by this Act, may be cited as the Compensation to Relatives Act, 1897-1946.
2 . The Compensation to Relatives Act of 1897, as
amended by subsequent Acts, is amended—
(a)
by omitting from paragraph (b) of subsection three of section three the words "by way of pension under the Widows' Pensions Act, 1925";
(b)
by inserting next after the same paragraph the following new paragraph:—
(c)
any sum paid or payable by way of pension under:—
(i) the Widows' Pensions Act, 1925-
1942;(ii) the Coal and Oil Shale Mine Workers (Pensions) Act, 1941- 1942;
(iii) the Australian Soldiers' Repatri ation Act 1920-1943 of the Par
liament of the Commonwealth; (iv) the Widows' Pensions Act 1942- 1945 of the Parliament of the Commonwealth;
(v) the Invalid and Old-age Pensions Act 1908-1945 of the Parliament of the Commonwealth;
or under any Act (Commonwealth or State) amending or replacing any such Act.
