Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Act 1971.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations “Principal Regulations” means the Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Regulations.

Rate prescribed for the purposes of sub-section 43 (5) of the Act

2. Regulation 27 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “$16.80” and substituting “$ 17.60”.

Rate prescribed for the purposes of sub-section 48 (1) of the Act

3. Regulation 28 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “$23.55” and substituting “$24.70”.

Schedule 4

4. Schedule 4 to the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule substituted:

Application

5. The amendments effected by these Regulations apply in relation to—

(a) weekly payments of compensation under the Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Act 1971 in respect of any period commencing on or after 1 November 1983; and

(b) payments of compensation (other than weekly payments) under the Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Act 1971 in respect of—

(i) an injury that occurs to an employee on or after 1 November 1983; or

(ii) a loss or event that occurs on or after 1 November 1983 resulting from any other injury to an employee.
