Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Act 1971.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Regulations.

Rate prescribed for the purposes of sub-section 43 (5) of the Act

2. Regulation 27 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “$20” and substituting “$20.50”.

Rate prescribed for the purposes of sub-section 48 (1) of the Act

3. Regulation 28 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “$28” and substituting “$28.70”.

Schedule 4

4. Schedule 4 to the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule substituted:

Application

5. (1) An amendment of the Principal Regulations made by these Regulations, being an amendment of an amount of compensation payable at a weekly rate under the Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Act 1971, applies in respect of compensation payable on or after 1 November 1985.

(2) An amendment of the Principal Regulations made by these Regulations, being an amendment (other than an amendment referred to in sub-regulation (1)) in respect of an amount of compensation under the Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Act 1971, applies in respect of—

(a) an injury that occurs to an employee on or after 1 November 1985; or

(b) a loss or event that occurs on or after 1 November 1985 resulting from an injury to an employee that occurred before that date.
