Regulation under the Companion Animals Act 1998.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to enable registration agents and persons authorised by registration agents to access the Register of Companion Animals.

This Regulation is made under the Companion Animals Act 1998, including sections 83G (1) and 96 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Companion Animals Amendment (Access to Register of

Companion Animals) Regulation 2018.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Companion Animals Regulation 2018

(1) Clause 30 Additional persons who may access Register

Omit “to access the Register” from clause 30 (f).

(2) Clause 30 (g) and (h)
Insert after clause 30 (f):
(g) a registration agent, but only to the extent required for the purposes of exercising the functions of that registration agent under the Act or this Regulation,
(h) any person authorised by a registration agent, but only to the extent required for the purposes of exercising the functions of that registration agent under the Act or this Regulation.
