Companies Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, being advice that, as required by sub-section 577 (2) of the Companies Act 1981, is consistent with resolutions of the Ministerial Council for Companies and Securities, hereby make the following Regulations under that Act.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 July 1986.

Definition of “authorized trustee corporation”

2. Regulation 14 of the Companies Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (xa) the following paragraph:

“(xb) Public Trustee for the Northern Territory under the Public Trustee Act 1979 of the Northern Territory;”.

Prescribed offices under sub-paragraph 8 (8) (a) (ii) of the Act

3. Regulation 17 of the Companies Regulations is amended—

(a) by adding at the end of sub-regulation (1) the following paragraphs:

“(zf) the office of the Public Trustee for the Northern Territory under the Public Trustee Act 1979 of the Northern Territory;

(zg) the office of Treasurer of the Northern Territory;

(zh) the office of the Commissioner for Corporate Affairs under section 4 of the Companies (Administration) Act 1986 of the Northern Territory;

(zi) the office of the Master of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory”; and

(b) by omitting sub-regulation (2).

Prescribed universities

4. Regulation 21 of the Companies Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (b) the following paragraph:

“(ba) Flinders University of South Australia;”.

Prescribed institutions

5. Regulation 22 of the Companies Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting after paragraph (j) the following paragraph:

“(ja) Darwin Institute of Technology;”; and

(b) by inserting after paragraph (x) the following paragraph:

“(xa) South Australian College of Advanced Education;”.

Prescribed authorities for the purposes of sub-section 227 (3)

6. Regulation 54a of the Companies Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (e) the following paragraph:

“(ea) the Secretary, Department of Correctional Services of the Northern Territory;”.
