This regulation may be cited as the Community Services (Torres Strait) Amendment Regulation 1991 .

2 Community Services (Torres Strait) Amendment Regulation 1991 Name of provision units 2.(1) A provision of the Community Services (Torres Strait) Regulations 1985 that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a regulation may be called a section. (2) A provision of the Community Services (Torres Strait) Regulations 1985 that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a subregulation may be called a subsection. (3) A reference in the Community Services (Torres Strait) Regulations 1985 to a regulation or subregulation of the regulations designated by a number is a reference to a section or subsection of the regulations designated by that number. PART 2—AMENDMENTS OF COMMUNITY SERVICES (TORRES STRAIT) REGULATIONS 1985 Amended regulations 3. The Community Services (Torres Strait) Regulations 1985 are amended as set out in this Part. References to a provision of the Act 4. If— (a) there is a reference in the Community Services (Torres Strait) Regulations 1985 to a provision of the CommunityServices(TorresStrait) Act 1984 ; and (b) the words ‘of the Act’, or words of similar effect, do not appear at the end of the reference; the Community Services (Torres Strait) Regulations 1985 are amended by inserting the words ‘of the Act’ at the end of the reference.

3 Community Services (Torres Strait) Amendment Regulation 1991 Replacement of s.1 (Short title) 5. Section 1— omit , insert— ‘Short title ‘1. This regulation may be cited as the CommunityServices(TorresStrait) Regulation 1985. ’. Amendment of s.12 (Vacating office of member) 6. After section 12(f)— insert— ‘ or (g) the member is ousted from office by the Supreme Court (whether or not the member was entitled to have been declared by the returning officer to be elected). ’. PART 3—TRANSITIONAL Vacancy in office of member—transitional 7. If, because of an order of the Supreme Court made before the commencement of this regulation, a member of an Island Council has been ousted from office, the office of the member becomes vacant on the commencement of this section.
