MONITORING) ACT 1993 No. 2—PROCLAMATION

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C.. Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Community Services (Complaints, Appeals and Monitoring) Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 7 April 1994 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

EX PLAN ATO R Y NO TE

This Proclamation commences the uncommenced provisions of the Community Services (Complaints. Appeals and Monitoring) Act 1993. Parts of this Act were commenced on 1 October 1993. (Those parts provided for the establishment of the Community Services Commission and the Community Services Review Council.) The matters provided for by the remaining provisions of the Act include the following:

1994—No. 100

the functions of the Community Services Commission (including promoting and assisting in the development of standards for the delivery of community services, monitoring and reviewing the delivery of community services and investigating and resolving complaints in relation to community services)

• the establishment of a Community Services Appeals Tribunal and the functions of that Tribunal (including hearing appeals in relation to various decisions made under community welfare legislation)

• the monitoring by Community Visitors of the provision of community

services.
