Application for approval of the Lift Build Services Pty Ltd / ETU / AMWU Construction & Service Employees Greenfields Agreement 2019-2022.

[1] Lift Build Services Pty Ltd has made a greenfields agreement known as the Lift Build Services Pty Ltd / ETU / AMWU / Construction & Service Employees Greenfields Agreement 2019-2022 (the Agreement) under section 172(2)(b) of the Act.

[2] The Agreement was made with the Communications, Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Information, Postal, Plumbing and Allied Services Union of Australia and the “Automotive, Food, Metals, Engineering, Printing and Kindred Industries Union” known as the Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union. These organisations are together entitled to represent the industrial interests of a majority of employees who will be covered by the Agreement in relation to work to be performed under the Agreement.

[3] I am satisfied that each of the relevant requirements of ss.186 and 187 of the Act have been met in relation to the Agreement.

[4] I am satisfied that it is in the public interest to approve the Agreement.

[5] The Agreement is approved and, in accordance with s.54 of the Act, will operate from 21 October 2020. The nominal expiry date of the Agreement is 1 March 2022.
