REGULATIONS UNDER THE EDUCATION ACT 1945-1966.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Education Act 1945-1966.

Amendments of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Awards Regulations 

Commonwealth University Scholarships.

1. Regulation 6 of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Awards Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (3.) the words “twenty-five years” and inserting in their stead the words “thirty years”.

Amount of allowance—ordinary scholarships.

2. Regulation 13 of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Awards Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a)of sub-regulation (2.) the words “Five hundred and fifty-nine dollars” and inserting in their stead the words “Six hundred and twenty dollars”;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b)of that sub-regulation the words “Nine hundred and four dollars eighty cents” and inserting in their stead the words “One thousand dollars”;

(c) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (3a.) the words “Five thousand dollars” (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the words “Five thousand three hundred dollars”; and

(d)by omitting from that paragraph the words “Two thousand five hundred dollars” and inserting in their stead the words “Two thousand six hundred and fifty dollars”.

Amount of allowance—mature age scholarships.

3. Regulation 14 of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Awards Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words “Nine hundred and four dollars eighty cents” and inserting in their stead the words “One thousand dollars”;

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the words “Three dollars ninety cents” and inserting in their stead the words “Seven dollars”; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (6.) the words “One dollar fifty cents” and inserting in their stead the words “Two dollars fifty cents”.

Application of amendments.

4. The amendments of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Awards Regulations made by these Regulations apply in respect of the year that commenced on the first day of January, 1970, and all subsequent years.
