REGULATIONS UNDER THE EDUCATION ACT 1945.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Education Act 1945.

AMENDMENTS OF THE COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP REGULATIONS. 

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of January, 1958.

Amount of allowance.

2. Regulation 13 of the Commonwealth Scholarship Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “One hundred and sixty-nine pounds” and inserting in their stead the words “One hundred and ninety-five pounds”;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “Two hundred and forty pounds ten shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Two hundred and ninety-nine pounds”;

(c) by omitting from paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “Six hundred pounds” and inserting in their stead the words “Six hundred and fifty pounds”;

(d) by omitting from paragraph (d) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “One pound ten shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Two pounds”; and

(e) by omitting from paragraph (e) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “One pound ten shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Two pounds”.

Amount of allowance.

3. Regulation 14 of the Commonwealth Scholarship Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—

“(a) Two hundred and ninety-nine pounds per annum; and”.
