PROVISIONAL REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1902-1909.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that, on account of urgency, the following Regulations under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1902-1909 should come into immediate operation, and make the Regulations to come into operation forthwith as Provisional Regulations.

Regulation 105, made under the provisions of the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1902, is repealed, and a new Regulation in the following terms is made in lieu thereof:—

105. The Clerical Division shall include all Officers whose offices the Governor-General, on the recommendation of the Commissioner, directs to be included in such Division, and shall be divided into five Classes. Each of such Classes shall be subdivided as set forth in the following Schedule, and the rate of salary of an Officer in a subdivision of any such Class shall be that assigned to such subdivision in such Schedule:—

A new Regulation, 108a, in the following terms is hereby made:—

108a. Where an Officer of the Clerical Division has for a period of three years been in receipt of a salary of One hundred and sixty pounds per annum, he may, on the certificate of the Commissioner, be granted by way of long service increment an increase of salary at the rate of Ten pounds per annum, and, at the expiration of a period of two years from the granting of the increase he may, on the certificate of the Commissioner, be granted by way of long-service increment a further increase of salary at the rate of Ten pounds per annum. All long-service increments granted to Officers of the Clerical Division prior to the date of this Regulation shall be deemed to have been granted in pursuance thereof.
