REGULATIONS
UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1941.*
THE Public
Service Board appointed under the Commonwealth
Public Service Act 1922-1941, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred
upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General,
hereby makes the following Regulations.

Amendments
of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.
Commencement.
1. Regulations 2 to 5 (both inclusive) and 7 to 10 (both inclusive) of
these Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the tenth day
of July, 1941.
“Salary” for purposes of furlough.
2. Regulation 62 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is
amended by omitting paragraph (b).
Salaries of officers of Second Division.
3. Regulation 104 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is
amended by omitting the figures “£900” (twice occurring), and inserting in
their stead the figures “£912”.

Salaries of officers of Third Division.
4. Regulation 105 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is
amended—
(a) by omitting from Table A each of the amounts of salary in excess
of £168 and respectively inserting in their stead an amount ascertained by
adding £12 to each of the amounts so omitted;
(b)by omitting from
paragraph (a)of sub-regulation (3.) the figures “222” and inserting in their
stead the figures “234”;
(c)by omitting from
paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (3.)
the figures “£306” and inserting in their stead the figures “£318”;
(d)by omitting from
paragraph (d)of sub-regulation (3.) the word “Fifty” and inserting in its stead
the words “Sixty-two”; and
(e) by omitting from paragraph (e)
of sub-regulation (3.) the figures “222”, “234”, “252” and “270” and
respectively inserting in their stead the figures “234”, “246”, “264” and
“282”.
Allowances in addition to salary.
5. Regulation 105c of the
Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the figures
“£354”, “£366” and “£318” and respectively inserting in their stead the figures
“£366”, “£378” and “£330”.
Salaries of officers of Fourth Division.
6. Regulation 106 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is
amended by omitting sub-regulation (3.) and inserting in its stead the
following sub-regulation:—
“(3.)
Where a female officer is employed in any of the offices referred to in this
regulation, the salary payable to the officer shall, in respect of the period
continuing on orafter the tenth day
of July, 1941, be in accordance with a scaleor amount which is Sixty-two pounds less than the scale or amount shown
opposite that office in the Fourth Schedule or fixed by the Governor-General
under sub-regulation (4.) of this regulation, except where that scale or amount
is prescribed or fixed as payable to a female officer or to an officer whose
age is less than 21 years.”.
Allowances in addition to salary.
7. Regulation 106aa of
the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the figures
“£260” and “£252” and respectively inserting in their stead the figures “£272”
and “£264”.
Amendment of First Schedule.
8. The First Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations
is amended by omitting from the third column each of the amounts representing
the maximum or minimum amount of a salary scale and respectively inserting in
their stead an amount ascertained by adding £12 to each amount so omitted.
Amendment of Second Schedule.
9. The Second Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations
is amended by omitting each amount of salary in excess of £168 specified
therein (other than the amounts in relation to Librarian (Female)) and
respectively inserting in their stead an amount ascertained by adding £12 to
each amount so omitted.
Amendment of Fourth Schedule.
10. The Fourth Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service
Regulations is amended by omitting from the first and second sub-columns of the
third column and from the fourth column each of the amounts of salary in excess
of £168 specified therein (other than amounts of salary applicable to female
officers) and respectively inserting in their stead an amount ascertained by
adding £12 to each amount so omitted.
