REGULATION UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1943.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, appointed under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1943, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following Regulation.

Amendment of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations. 

After regulation 98 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations, the following regulation is inserted:—

Partial reimbursement of fares of certain officers.

“98aa.—(1.) Where an unmarried officer, stationed in Canberra, who is in receipt of salary not exceeding £358 per annum—

(a) travels, while on recreation leave, to the home of his parents or guardians; and

(b) the cost to the officer of the return fare to and from the locality in which the home of his parents or guardians is situated exceeds Ten pounds,

the Chief Officer may, subject to the succeeding provision of this regulation, authorize reimbursement to the officer of the amount by which the fare exceeds Ten pounds.

“(2.) Partial reimbursement of an officer's fare under this regulation shall not be authorized more than once in every two calendar years.”.
