REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1943.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD appointed under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1943, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations. 

Recording and payment of overtime.

1. Regulation 67 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting in sub-regulation (14.), after the word “Commerce” (first occurring), the words “and Agriculture”.

Travelling time.

2. Regulation 69 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting, after the word “officer” (first occurring), the words “who is in receipt of salary at a rate not exceeding £462 per annum”.

Sunday duty.

3. Regulation 70 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting in sub-regulation (6a.), after the word “Commerce” (first occurring), the words “and Agriculture”.

Allowances in addition to salary.

4. Regulation 105c of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words ‘‘Marree and Powell’s Creek” and inserting in their stead the words “and Marree”.

Test of qualifications for certain offices

5. Regulation 112a of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in sub-regulation (1.), after the words “Quantity Surveyor, Cadet.”, the words “Radio inspector.”; and

(b) by inserting in sub-regulation (4.), after the word “Board, (second occurring), the words “has successfully completed a University course in Accountancy which is regarded by the Board as of at least like value,”.

The First Schedule.

6. The First Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in the designations of offices and the particulars relating thereto of the Department of Social Services, before the designation of the office of Commissioner of Pensions and the particulars relating thereto, the following words and figures:—

(b) by omitting from the column headed “Department” the words “Supply and Development” and inserting in their stead the words “Supply and Shipping”;

The Third Schedule

7. The Third Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting the words and figure “Examiner, Grade 2” and all the words and figures occurring opposite thereto;

(b) by inserting, after the designation of the office of Clerk, Taxation Branch (Correspondence and Accounts), Queensland, Department of the Treasury, and the particulars relating thereto the following words and figures:—

“Librarian.............. Secretariat Social Services 238 304 (One position”;)

(c) by omitting the following words and figures:—

“Clerk.............................. Meteorological (Central Staff) Interior… 292 370 (One position)”;

(d) by inserting, in the column headed “Department”, after the word “Commerce”, the words “and Agriculture”; and

(e) by omitting the figures “280” and “352” occurring opposite the designation of the office of Clerk, Accounts Branch (General Accounts), Queensland, Postmaster-General’s Department, and inserting in their stead the figures “352” and “424”, respectively.

The Fourth Schedule.

8. The Fourth Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from the column headed ‘‘Department” the word “Commerce” occurring opposite the words “Assistant (Dairy Export)” and inserting in their stead the words “Commerce and Agriculture”;

(b) by omitting the designation of the office of Assistant (Fault Recording), Senior, and all the particulars occurring opposite that designation;

(c) by omitting from the column headed “Department” the word “Commerce” occurring opposite the words “Assistant (Navigation and Lighthouses)” and inserting in its stead the words “Supply and Shipping”;

(d) by inserting, after the designation of the office of “Assistant (Photography)” and the particulars relating thereto, the following words and figures:—

(e) by omitting the designation of the office of Biograph Operator, Department of Trade and Customs, Central Staff, and all the particulars occurring opposite that designation;

(m) by inserting, after the designation of the office of Mail Officer, Senior, Grade 2, and the particulars relating thereto, the following words and figures:—
