COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS (ELEVENTH AMENDMENT, 1921).

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1902-1918, to come into operation from the 12th May, 1921.

Amendment of Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.

Regulation 104 of the Public Service Regulations is amended:—

(a) By omitting from Table B the words—

“Artificer,

To advance to £210 after one year’s service at £204.

”;

(b) By inserting in Table C the words—

“Mechanic (Lighthouse)

To advance to £210 after one year’s service at £204.

”; and

(c) By omitting therefrom the words—

“Notwithstanding anything contained in this regulation, if the rate of pay prescribed for an office named herein is less in any case than the rate determined by an Arbitration Court or Wages Board to be paid for similar employment in the locality of employment, salary corresponding to the latter rate may be paid in such office upon approval of the Commissioner instead of the salary prescribed herein”

and inserting in their stead the words—

“Notwithstanding anything contained in this regulation, if the rate of pay prescribed for an office named in this Table is less in any case than the rate determined by Arbitration Court or Wages Board to be paid for similar employment in the locality of employment, upon approval of the Commissioner, remuneration corresponding to the latter rate may be paid in respect of such office instead of the salary prescribed in this Table.”
