REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1947.*

I, the Governor-General in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby approve the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.
"(4) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation, the Board may determine, in respect of any examination, that an applicant who has not attained his twenty-first birthday on the day preceding the examination for which application is made may not be required to pay the entrance fee of Five shillings.".
2. —(1.) The Fourth Schedule to the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—
(
a ) by omitting the designation of the offices of "Accounting Machinist (Female), Grade 3" and of "Accounting*Notified in the Commonwealth Gazette on ,1948.

| (i) An allowance at the rate of £24 per annum shall be granted to an officer under 21 years of age on evidence to the satisfaction of the Board of the passing of a prescribed test | |

(ii) Advancement beyond £234 por annum to be subject to the passing of such test as may be prescribed by the Board | ||||||
(iii) A minimum salary of £222 por annum shall be paid subject to evidence to the satisfaction of the Board of the passing of the prescribed test referred to in paragraph (i) above, with advancement to £246 per annum, subject to prescribed conditions, twelve months thereafter | ||||||

b ) by inserting after the designation of the office of "Supervisor (Female), Postmaster-General's Department, Victoria" and the particulars relating thereto the following words and figures:—

c ) by omitting the words "All Offices" and inserting in their stead the words "All Offices (except as otherwise prescribed)".
(2.) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the twenty-eighth day of August, 1947.
