REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1947.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD appointed under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1947, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations. 

Applications, how made.

1.Regulation 6 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the words. “The application” and inserting in their stead the words “Except where otherwise provided in these Regulations, the application”.

Basis of calculation of allowances.

2.Regulation 75 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by adding at the end of sub-regulation (1.) the words “or by marginal increases granted by a determination of the Public Service Arbitrator.”.

3. Regulation 75a of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the table contained therein and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Allowances to officers performing relieving duties or working within defined districts.

4.Regulation 76 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the table contained therein and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Allowances to Veterinary Officers and Meat Inspectors.

5. Regulation 79b of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the table contained therein and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Unmarried Veterinary Officers, Grades 1 and 2, and Meat Inspectors

17s. 6d. per day (21s. per day in capital cities)

No allowance

Married Veterinary Officers, Grades 1 and 2, and Meat Inspectors

65s. per week (80s. per week in capital cities)”

Reimbursement of fares of Meat Inspectors.

6.Regulation 91 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) the words “Customs House” and inserting in their stead the words “Office of the Department of Commerce and Agriculture”.

Notification of vacancies.

7. Regulation 108 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulation is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(3.) An application for appointment to a vacancy notified in pursuance of sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation shall be forwarded to the officer specified in the notification of the vacancy.”.
