REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1924.

THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS appointed under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1924, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following amendments of the Regulations, such amendments to come into operation forthwith.

Amendments of Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.

(Statutory Rules 1923, No. 93, as amended to this date.)

Regulation 104 is amended by inserting in the table of sub-regulation (1) thereof, after the office “Chief Engineer”, the following:—

Regulation 105a is amended by inserting after paragraph (u) in sub-regulation (1) the following additional paragraphs:—

(v) An officer occupying, in the Department of Works and Railways, an office of Draftsman, with limits of salary £114-456 (£120-474 from 1st July, 1926), and receiving salary not exceeding £306 per annum, shall not be advanced beyond that amount unless—

(1) he has furnished evidence to the satisfaction of the Board that he has completed an approved course of study in subjects relating to the work of the position which he is occupying and in allied subjects at a Technical School or other institution approved by the Board.

On compliance with condition (1) the officer shall, if an adult, be paid not less than £294 per annum, and may advance by annual increments to £378 per annum (£384 per annum from 1st July, 1926). Until the officer complies with condition (1) he shall be designated “Cadet”.

(w) An officer occupying, in the Department of Works and Railways, an. office of Draftsman, with limits of salary £114-456 (£120-474 from 1st July, 1926), shall not be advanced, in salary beyond £378 per annum (£384 per annum from 1st July, 1926), except upon evidence to the satisfaction of the Board that the character and importance of the work so warrant, and that he is capable of discharging under the general supervision of the controlling officer any duties which come within the scope of the Section in which he is employed.

Regulation 106 is amended by inserting at the end of Table G the following:—
