REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922–1924.

THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS appointed under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922–1924, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following amendments of the Regulations, such amendments to come into operation forthwith, except amendments of regulation 138, which are to come into operation as from the 1st July, 1928.

Amendments of Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.

(Statutory Rules 1926, No. 212, as amended to this date.)

1. Regulation 62 is amended by adding at the end thereof the following clause:—

“(i) allowance payable under regulation 97b in such cases and to such extent as is determined by the Board.”

2. Regulation 97b is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(7) It shall be the duty of each officer who is in receipt of an allowance under the provisions of this regulation to notify the Chief Officer immediately in the event of any change occurring in his domestic conditions which affects his eligibility for payment of allowance, or in his place of residence, or of any alteration in the amount paid by him for rent or for board and lodging.”

3. Regulation 105b is amended by omitting from the table the offices of Clerk, Auditor-General’s Office (Central Staff), minimum £96, maximum £256, and Clerk (Library), and the particulars shown opposite such offices.

4. Regulation 106 is amended—

(a) by omitting from Table B the office of Assistant (examinations, &c.) and the particulars shown opposite such office.

(b) by inserting in Table D, after the office “Assistant (Attachments, &c.), Bankruptcy Branch, Victoria”, the following particulars:—

5. Regulation 109b is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(4) Where an officer is transferred or promoted from one position to another with differing rates of incremental advancement, the Board may determine the salary to be paid upon transfer or promotion and the date, for purposes of granting of increments, from which that salary shall be deemed to have been paid.”

6. Regulation 138 is amended:—

(a) by inserting in sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (1), after the word “occasions”, the words “in the preceding twelve months”;

(b) by inserting in paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (2), after the word “occasions”, the words “in the preceding twelve months”.
