REGULATIONS UNDER THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1928.

THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS appointed under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1928, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following amendments of the Regulations, such amendments to come into operation forthwith.

Amendments of Commonwealth Public Service Regulations.

(Statutory Rules 1926, No. 212, as amended to this date.)

1. Regulation 105a is amended by deleting from paragraph (r) the words “Home and Territories” and inserting in their stead the words “Home Affairs”.

2. Regulation 106 is amended—

“Advancement beyond £258 per annum (£208 in the case of female officers) shall be subject to passing such tests in telegraphy and postal work as are notified by the Board from time to time.

An officer occupying an office of Postal Clerk, Fourth Division, shall, upon notification in the Gazette of his having passed an examination held to enable Postal Clerks in the Fourth Division to qualify for inclusion in the Third Division, become an officer of the Third Division as from the first day of July in the year in which he passes such examination (the first day of February in the year 1930), and shall thereupon be eligible, subject to the provisions of Regulations 105 and 105a, for advancement to a maximum salary of £306 per annum (£256 in the case of female officers).

(u) by deleting from Table I the office of “Senior Cable Recorder” and the particulars shown opposite such office, and inserting in their stead the following:—

“An officer occupying an office of Telegraphist, Fourth Division, shall, upon notification in the Gazette of his having passed an examination held to enable Telegraphists in the Fourth Division to qualify for inclusion in the Third Division, become an officer of the Third Division as from the first day of July in the year in which he passes such examination (the first day of February in the year 1930), and shall thereupon be eligible, subject to the provisions of Regulations 105 and 105a, for advancement to a maximum salary of £342 per annum (£292 in the case of female officers).
