An officer occupying an office of Postal Clerk, Fourth Division, shall, upon notification in the
Gazette of his having passed an examination held to enable Postal Clerks in the Fourth Division to qualify for inclusion in the Third Division, become an officer of the Third Division as from the first day of July in the year in which he passes such examination (the first day of February in the year 1930), and shall thereupon be eligible, subject to the provisions of Regulations 105 and 105a, for advancement to a maximum salary of £306 per annum (£256 in the case of female officers).(
