REGULATIONS UNDER. THE COMMONWEALTH PUBLIC

SERVICE ACT 1922-1947.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD appointed under the Commonwealth Public Service Act 1922-1947, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the said Act, and subject to the approval of the Governor-General, hereby makes the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations. 

Basis of calculation of allowances.

1. Regulation 75 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words "or by" and inserting in their stead the words "but shall be deemed to include"

Rates of travelling allowances.

2. Regulation 75a of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulations (1.) awl (2.) and inserting in their stead the following sub-regulations:—

" (1.) Subject to those Regulations, the following shall be the scale of travelling allowances for all officers and temporary employees:—

Where Maximum Salary of Position is

Allowance Capital Cities.

Allowance Other than Capital Cities.

First Twenty-one Days' Residence

After Twenty-one Days' Residence.

First Twenty-one Days' Residence.

" (2.) The travelling allowance payable to officers acting as members of an Appeal Board or a Board of Inquiry shall be at the rate of Thirty shillings a day.".

Allowances to officers performing relieving duties or working within defined districts.

3. Regulation 76 of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the table contained in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Test of qualifications for certain offices.

4. Regulation 112a of the Commonwealth Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the words " Clerk (Audit), Grade 3, or Inspector" and inserting in their stead the words "Audit Inspector"; and

(b) by omitting the proviso to that sub-regulation.
